With the popularity minimalism, simple geometry has been returned to the public vision and also inspired the development of stitching. This report will analyze the geometric texture of knitwear from the perspective of fine-gauged stitching. Dot & line check, 3D rhombus, embossed stripe, dense fine lines and dense blocks are the five directions.

Checked texture is popular in recent seasons. The large squares of Simona Marziali are made of plain & purl knitting, and variable stitching is integrated into the checks in this season. Pointelle, pelerine stitch and fillet are combined to form the abundant two-side continual texture.

Dimensional lines are crossed to from the 3D rhombus pattern in this season. Letters and fine lines are added into the all-over pattern. Tonal or color blocking design approaches the visual conflict of line and surface.

Stripe element is widely applied on A/W 21/22 and CR 2022 runways, and it will also be presented on stitching. Except for plain & purl knitting, pointelle, pelerine stitch and cable are combined to reveal the embossed stripe texture.
